Microsoft is preparing a very large update for SkyDrive in their upcoming Windows 8 operating system. Leaked images of the revised interface reveal that it is on par with Apple’s iCloud, and could very possibly be a competitor in the coming years. Just last week Apple announced a revised and much improved iCloud user interface for their upcoming operating system OS X Mountain Lion.
The updated version of SkyDrive will include improved file management and synchronization, secure two-step factor authentication while using remote access to your files not uploaded to SkyDrive, and support for file uploads of up to 2GB in size. As far as your allocated amount of storage is concerned, you can add an extra 20, 50, or 100 GB to your normal 25GB baseline plan for only a yearly cost of $10, $25, or $50.
