Apple has made three different kind of laptops.  They’ve got the Macbook, Macbook Pro, and Macbook Air.  All of these machines are amazing, but which one is right for you?  Well the MacBook is the cheapest laptop right now(2010)

The specs are:

  • 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 2GB DDR3 memory
  • 250GB hard drive1
  • 8x double-layer SuperDrive
  • NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics
  • Built-in 10-hour battery2
  • Polycarbonate unibody enclosure
  • 13 inch widescreen display

The Macbook was made for people that do not want to spend too much money, but want the OSX experience.  The Macbook should have enough power for casual applications and even for some more demanding ones like video editing.

The next laptop is the MacBook Pro.  This computer comes in a 13 inch screen, 15 inch screen, and 17 inch screen.  The MacBook Pro series is made for just about anything but it costs a lot more money.

The 15 inch MacBook Pro is a far more serious machine than it’s younger the brother, the 13 inch.  The Intel Core i series processors offer much better performance, but this extra power comes with a very high price.

The MacBook Pro 17 inch is just about the same as the 15 inch, the only difference is price and size.

The final Laptop is the MacBook Air.  This machine is a very thin, but it is lacking some things, like a disk-drive and the machine is not that fast.  Even though this laptop is very small it costs a lot.  Now is not a good time to buy one, because it has not been updated in nearly 2 years, and an update may be just around the corner.

  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

So, to sum up everything, if you want a Mac but are not going to spend much, you should get the MacBook. If you want a very portable laptop but do not want to do to much on it, go with the MacBook Air. If you want a portable laptop but have a lot of power, go with the MacBook Pro.
