Some recent charts and sales stats have shown a trend of the iPad consistently taking over the eBook market. The Amazon Kindle used to dominate this market and was really the only solution. The iPad has really put a stick in Amazon’s spoke. The iPad has gone from 16% ebook market share in Aug ’10 to a whopping 32% as of Nov ’10. That is a 200% increase in mere months. While in this same period of time the Amazon Kindle as dropped from 62% on Aug 10’ to 47% in Nov ’10. So as the iPad climbs in the eBook market the Kindle slips.
With the iPad 2 right around the corner it looks as if we will see a continuation in this trend toward the iPad unless Amazon does something big. ChangeWave research predicts we will see the Apple iPad overtake the Amazon Kindle within the next 90 days. The iPad has a whopping 75% satisfaction rating compared to the Kindle’s 54%. This means that the people who buy iPads are happy with them and keep them for a good bit. Below we have the eBook market share prediction graph for the next 90 days.
