  • Apple Releases Education-Only iMac: Earlier on this week, Apple very subtly released their latest iMac, however unlike the rest of the line-up, this model is only available to schools and colleges. The iMac is equipped with a 21.5″ screen, a dual-core Intel Core i3 CPU which is clocked at 3.1GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD and an AMD HD 6750 graphics card. What is missing from this machine however, is the Thunderbolt, however as far as I can see, the majority of schools would not benefit from this high-speed port at this moment in time.
  • Pirate Blocking Dropped in UK: A couple of weeks ago, we reported on TechInform that the British government was going to order BT to block NewzBin, a file sharing site used by many illegal miscreants. This order has now been overturned for a number of reasons.
  • Google to Buy Motorola: Earlier today, Google bought Motorola-Mobility – the section of Motorola that makes the mobile handsets. In a statement made by Google, this aquisation will apparently ‘supercharge’ Android… The purchase does make sense however, with Motorola’s primary phone supply being Android powered smart phones, and tablet for that matter; gone are the days of the Motorola Razr ruling the mobile market place!
