  • Three New Blackberry Touch-Screen Devices:  This week, RIM (the Blackberry manufacturer), released three new devices, all of which host a touch-screen and BB OS 7. The first, the Bold 9900, has the most typical Blackberry layout, with a full QWERTY keyboard with a horizontal, 2.8″ touchscreen above. The second device, the Torch 9810, is a slider phone, with a vertical touch-screen, and a full keyboard tucked underneath. The final device is the Torch 9860. It packs a large, 3.7″ touch-screen and has no physical keyboard. All three new devices have the same 1.2Ghz processor and 5 megapixel cameras, which are capable of recording HD video. There has been no word on pricing yet, however we can expect to see these phones before the summer is over.
  • Foxconn To Purchase 1 million Robots:  These robots will replace a yet unknown number of workers, however we can expect it to be at the very least, several hundred thousand people. If all goes to plan, the robots will be introduced over the next three years.
  • Skype for iPad Released:  Since the lauch of the iPad 2 with the FaceTime camera, the Skype app has been on top of many people’s wish lists. Finally however, the app has hit the store, ready for download. It offers many of the features of the iPhone app, however makes good use of the larger display. So far, the feedback we have seen has been very positive, so this looks like a must-have app for any iPad 2 owner.

Rumors

  • Apple to Discontinue the Magic Mouse:  A new report from Cult of Mac suggests that Apple will soon discontinue their much-loved and hated Magic Mouse. The reasoning behind this is the fact that OS X Lion is very gesture heavy, many of which cannot be performed on the Magic Mouse. Please leave your thoughts on this rumor in the comments below.
