  • Facebook for iPad Leaked: Buried deep inside the code of Facebook’s iOS app update, V.3.4.4, was the code for the company’s much-anticipated iPad app, which is coded entirely in HTML5. The app appears to be very user friendly, and takes fantastic use of the large screen, with side menus on every screen. You can check out the post on TechInform to find out how to unleash this app.
  • Some MacBook Air SSDs Slower than Others: While YouTube sensation, TLDToday was running benchmarks on his 11” and 13” 2011 MacBook Airs, he noticed something quite extraordinary. The SSD in one of his models was considerably slower than the other. Apple buys its SSDs from two manufacturers: Samsung and Toshiba. The Samsung drives are the faster ones, with a write and read speed of 246MBps and 264MBps respectively. The Toshiba on the other hand only has a write speed on 156MBps and a read speed of 208MBps.   • BBC iPlayer Goes Global: Here in the UK, BBC iPlayer is one of the big things; it allows users to watch past TV shows online, through a web browser or a mobile app. Now, the BBC have released their global iPad app (which is currently only available in Europe… the US to follow apparently!). This will be a subscription based service costing 7 euros a month. One feature which is making UK users extremely jealous is the ability to download the episodes onto your iPad, something we have been hoping since the dawn of the iPlayer craze.

  • Ultra-thin 15” MacBook Coming Soon: According to a whole host of different sources, Apple is in the final stage of testing its ultra-thin 15” MacBook. We say MacBook, because we are not entirely sure which product line this new machine will fit into; possibly the Air line, however it is not really portable. That leads us naturally onto the Pro line; however it is unlike Apple to have different designs in one product line-up. Please leave your thoughts in the comments bellow.
