If you’re a student, like me, who buys their macs on student discount, this year you might have a slight surprise.
Every year Apple do their annual “Back to School” promotion, when not only do you get your great discount off of your chosen Apple computer (any discount off an Apple computer is a good one, right?) but you also received a free iPod Touch. This year appears to come with a twist. Rumors have risen that this year, unlike prior years, an iPod Touch will not be offered. Taking it’s place will be a $100 iTunes giftcard. This of course is still something nice to receive, but hey, I want a free iPod! This is a pretty sizeable decrease in value considering the low end iPod Touch that was previously offered is valued (currently) at around $200-$230.
The rumored beginning of this promotion is Wednesday. So if you’ve been hanging out waiting for the promotion to begin before you buy your mac, it might finally be your time!
