Back in March 2006, Twitter launched, offering a different take on social media than anything that was around at that time with their unique 140 character limit. The service has taken off since launch, with many expansions and changes throughout the years. Twitter quickly became my favorite social network and continues to be one that I use daily.

To celebrate the milestone, Twitter posted a video on their profile today highlighting how the service has been used over the past ten years. In addition to that video, the animation for liking tweets has been modified for today, showing confetti coming out of the heart when a user likes a tweet.

So, happy birthday Twitter. Here’s to the next ten years of tweets!
