When Azulle presented us with the opportunity to check out their new Access3, the decision was a no brainer and we jumped at the opportunity. The Access3 is a mini PC slightly larger than an Amazon Fire Stick, but runs a full version of Windows 10, making it a great option for a portable PC that can go with you, or a home theater PC that can easily hide behind your TV and act as a media server and streamer.
Our review unit features the Intel Celeron J4105 quad core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of onboard storage. As for ports, the Access3 features 2 USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit ethernet, a 3,5 mm audio jack, a microSD card slot, and Kensington lock slot. It connects to a display via HDMI and is powered via micro USB with the included power adaptor. Also included in the box is a short HDMI extension cable.
Let’s talk performance. The Access3 boots almost instantly and performs well when navigating the Windows 10 interface and browsing the web. As for video, this PC boasts 4K support, which when played back through YouTube on a display set at 1080p resolution, worked without a problem. When the display resolution was set at 4K, playback became choppy, but not unplayable. Local files played back at 4K resolution were a much better experience, so your mileage may vary when working with 4K videos depending on the source.
One gripe we have with the Access3 is the 32GB of onboard storage, which can be limiting when trying to install additional apps or adding media. Fortunately, between the microSD slot and USB ports, adding additional storage for media wouldn’t be a problem. The Access3 can also be configured with up to 64 GB of storage through Azulle’s website.
The Azulle Access3 ranges from anywhere $159 to $359 depending the system specifications you choose. It can be picked up from AzulleTech.com, Amazon, Best Buy, and other online retailers. Overall the Access3 is an excellent choice for an inexpensive PC to take on the go or use for media streaming and we would definitely recommend it.
